'A family meal nourishes the body and soul, unites a family and defines love.'

My fondest childhood memories are of sitting around the dinner table with family and friends and consuming not only the beautiful food my mother prepared but the day's events, strories and laughter. For many families mealtimes were once the only gathering of the family, but this time-honoured tradition is sadly diminishing: the television remains on, the phone rings and everyone eats at different times suited to their own individual pursuits.

Please take some time to prepare some of the following meals for your family. They are wholesome, easy to prepare and great to share with your family. You can find more great recipes like these in my cookbook.

A Healthy Delicious Condiment

This is a condiment that I use in so many things;base for soups, beginning to a stir fry, smothering roast vegetables in, roasting broccoli smothered in this condiment, topping for a salad, baking with fish, meat or chicken, basted on a twisted bread loaf before baking the bread (this is my favourite). The uses are endless. If you don't like basil and coriander or you want some variety try other herbs. I go through one of these every week, my fridge feels empty if it is not there.
