 I thought vaccines were for infectious diseases not life style diseases.  

Researchers in the United States say they have had overwhelmingly favourable results in a trial for a new breast cancer vaccine. Scientists from the Cleveland Clinic say when tested on mice, the vaccine prevented cancers forming and also stopped existing tumours growing. Human trials of the vaccine could begin as early as next year. The leader of the research team, Dr Vincent Tuohy, says it could be a medical breakthrough. "In my most optimistic moments, I think this vaccine would eliminate breast cancer," he said. "In my least optimistic moments, I think it would have a substantial impact on the incidence of breast cancer. "There's really nothing quite like it that I know of."
