Twenty8 Organic Essential Oils by Kim Morrison and Fleur Whelligan now available in our Shop!
For the past 8 years I have followed two amazing women’s journey. From acquaintances they have become good friends and I am very proud of their achievements. They are prolific authors and have written best selling books including; Like Chocolate for Women, An Apple a Day, About Face and Like Chocolate For Women 28 Day Program. They travel the country teaching about self care. Their motto; “Self care is not selfish it is essential”.
The first time I saw Kim Morrison and Fleur Whelligan speak they taught many things but the one thing that really stuck in my mind was their 2 minute daily body boost. This is something that from the first day I was showed have done myself every single day and found it a beautiful way to create a positive day, physically, mental and emotionally.
Kim and Fleur use aromatherapy on a daily basis to nourish the body, mind and spirit and because of them I now have made these essential oils a habit in my life. I use them in my hair, on my skin, when I travel, as a spritzer, on my bed, in my office, as perfume and much more.
It was very exciting when Kim and Fleur decided to bring out their own range of essential oils. They have been diligent (I’ve watched them) in where they have sourced their oils and I know that they are of the highest quality. When I first started to use essential oils I purchased them as singular oils and then tried to blend them, but Kim and Fleur have taken the hard work out of thinking about what oils go with what and what don’t. They have produced a line of blends, which include; De-Stress and Revive, Energy and Vitality (I have that scent in my office right now), Instant Calm, Celebrate and Uplift, Romance and Intimacy. I think you get the idea!
I have tried to get rid of all chemicals in my diet and my life and finding these two girls and their passion for the skin and skin care and aromatherapy was another step to getting rid of more chemicals. Next month they will be bringing out their own skin care range that I have had the good fortune to be trialling for the past year and am absolutely besotted with the range.
So many people ask me what skin care should I use, what perfume, what this what that, so slowly but surely over the next year I’ll let you in on all the things that I use in order to eliminate chemicals out of our environment, even down to the paint we decorate our house with. You’ll be surprised what is out there and the amazing ethical people behind these wonderful products. I have made it my mission to know the people who are behind making this world a less chemical and hostile environment for our bodies and our children, so I know their ethics and I know they are making a product that will not harm you or the environment.
For now though we are including in our store the wonderful “twenty8” range of aromatherapy, created by Kim and Fleur, and next month we’ll introduce you to their most lavish and indulgent natural skin care range that is bursting with the senses of their magical aromatherapy blends.
A special note for all you guys: these oils can be used for both males and females. My husband uses the oils as an after shave lotion on a regular basis.

Aromatherapy
Aromatherapy is an ancient healing modality that has been around for thousands of years, however it is only in the last century that it has become more scientifically validated. Aromatherapy, put simply, is a therapy using aromas. These aromas are called essential oils, which are extracted from herbs, grass, bark, flowers, resin, peel, roots or various other plant sources. Steam distillation is the most common method of extraction, which leaves two distinct liquids – floral water and the essential oil. Some companies will bottle and sell the floral waters as well as the essential oil. An essential oil is highly concentrated sometimes 70 times more than the plant is has come from. So the key point to remember with aromatherapy is less is best. Only a few drops are needed to make a difference.
Before you begin using essential oils it is important to understand that even though aromatherapy is a natural therapy it does not necessarily mean it is safe. It is imperative you read and understand all contra-indications as there are some oils to be used with caution like on sensitive skin, people prone to epilepsy or high blood pressure. Some oils should also be avoided during pregnancy or in direct sunlight. If you are unsure check with a qualified aromatherapist and have a good book as your reference or guide.
There are many fantastic ways to use essential oils including massage, vaporisation, bathing, compressing, inhalation, footbaths, spritzer and, in a few instances, directly
Here are 10 of our favourite essential oils and some of their properties.

When it comes to purchasing good quality essential oils and aromatherapy products we recommend a reputable supplier. To know an essential oil brand is of high quality check the price first. Essential oils vary in price from Lavender at around $15 for a 9ml bottle to pure Rose oil at around $450 AUD. The reason prices vary is because of the way they are extracted, where they are grown, their yield and the harvesting. Check the bottle has the words ‘pure essential oil’ on the front and ensure the botanical name is on the bottle so you can see the exact source.
