Back in the mid-1990s, I was speaking to a Weight Watchers group who had termed themselves the Happy Slimmers. I told the crowd of about 90 that, perhaps, the consumption of fat was not the entire problem to their weight condition, but rather the excessive amount of carbohydrates and manipulated and processed foods they were eating. The crowd became hostile and angry; so much so, that several members of the audience stormed out of the hall, saying they had heard enough.
